Digital Strategy
The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh asked for a new website for a campaign they are organizing to promote a ballot initiative for library funding. The Our Library, Our Future campaign needed to have it's own identity independent of the library's main web presence. The final design pulled from the bright bold colors that users were familiar with from the library site as well as the signage and other aspects of the children's section of their physical libraries. The main purpose of this site was to invite the user to take some quick actions: submitting an email address for further communication, volunteering with the petitioning and engaging friends through social media. Because the focus was more on quick action and less on text-heavy explanations the solution was to easily highlight the quick action items and provoke sentimental value of taking action via the strong imagery. The result was being able to visually tell a story about the value of the library in the community.
